PART 2 : THE EXTERIOR OF THE MEGA CD, AND TAKING OFF THE TOP COVER

17.
This is the right hand side of the MEGA CD.  This is the back side of the interface that connects to the Mega Drive.  It seems as though its partially a handle - you know.... to aid movement from pillar to post.  The thing you do most with consoles.

18.
This looks so awesome.  Think about it.  CD's were in their infancy, and all of a sudden you have a kid gamer knowing that something good has just come out that is going to change the future of gaming.

Pure class.

19.
Same as 18.

20.
Some of the rear stickers on the MEGA CD.
21.
Another rear shot of the MEGA CD.  The ports on the rear are discussed on the previous page.  There is a single air intake to the top.
22.
Same as 21.
23.
A full underneath shot of the MEGA CD.  Hopefully you can see the 6 screw holes that we are going to be concentrating on for the next minute.
24.
Here we go, this is early nineties technology.  No star shaped screws to be found here.  Just good old simple Phillips.  There isn't even one underneath a sticker that would show it was void.  So we take a said screwdriver and turn.
25.
A now insecure MEGA CD at hand, with 6 free screws and a driver.  But what's this?

IT WONT OPEN!

26.
Ahhhhhhh... All is revealed.  On the top side, on the Interface port there's two camouflaged screws.
27.
They may be disguised, but they aren't the star shaped ones that we fear.  The very same screwdriver takes care of this little ball ache.
28.
Suddenly... POP!

A little push on the port and out clicks the top of the case.

29.
A side view of the same thing.  All that is left is to lift off the top of the MEGA CD.
30.
... and that's easy.
